Wanderlust at home

As the year slows down, I’m not late to do the same. This is my favorite time to look back at things that have been, just to say a final farewell. We can’t change the past so why not learn from it, appreciate, and move fwd? I’ve been posting some of my favorite moments on my IG!

I’m also launching myself into the thing I really love the most, traveling. Since it’s so excruciatingly expensive to travel (am I right?) we’ve decided to explore the close surroundings to where we live. Mostly it has been an hour to a few away from LA.

I’m always reminded of how lucky we are to be in a place with such beauty. As with everything, it’s not ALL good ALL the time, but the act of appreciation and gratitude takes us a long way, and puts us in a place of good.

The San Bernadino mountains are stunning, sporting wide views of space, and redwoods at every turn. We stop and smell the air and listen for the quiet several times on the walk. At the end of the day it’s the things one mindfully stops to appreciate that are the things that move us fwd I think.

I’m grateful for the things I can control: being mindful, choosing daily movement, feeding my mind and body with good. I let go of the things I cannot: world politics, other people’s pain, the weather ;).

It doesn’t work all the time (and anyone who says it does is probably lying 😂) but the more I practice the better I drop back into the mindset. Would you like to practice with me?
